Legal Counsel | Fluxys

For Fluxys, I am looking for a Legal Counsel. Fluent in Dutch or French, with good knowledge of the other language and English.

Fluxys is an international energy infrastructure group with 1,300 employees active in gas transmission & storage and liquefied natural gas terminalling. 

The group transports natural gas through its infrastructure while paving the way for the transmission of hydrogen, biomethane or any other carbon-neutral energy carrier as well as carbon dioxide, accomodating its capture, use and storage.

As a Legal Counsel within the Legal Department, you will be the contact person for legal questions and cases and provide legal support and advice in various areas and activities, such as energy transition, commercial affairs, contracts, regulatory and public affairs, etc.

Together with the legal team and the business, you will contribute to Fluxys' expansion and projects:

• You will be the legal point of contact for the management and the business on commercial and legal issues
• You will take part in projects related to the energy transition and be responsible for their legal aspects, including assessing and managing risks
• You will draft legal opinions, agreements and other documents in a complex regulated environment
• You will play an active role in group-wide discussions between the commercial, technical, operational and financial teams
• You will monitor relevant legislation proactively, inform management and make proposals for implementation
• You will build valuable relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• You will work closely with external advisors

• You hold a Master's degree in law
• You have in-depth knowledge of contract law and other relevant areas of law, such as construction law, corporate law, etc.
• You have at least 5 years' experience as a legal counsel or lawyer, preferably in an international context
• Experience in project management and knowledge of the energy sector are a plus
• You have excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail
• You are proactive, pragmatic and a team player
• You are highly flexible, think out of the box and enjoy creative approaches
• You are result-oriented and able to independently perform multiple tasks simultaneously under time pressure
• You enjoy working with other non-legal departments and have the power of persuasion
• You are fluent in Dutch or French with good knowledge of the other language and English
