Legal Counsel | Holcim

For Holcim, I am looking for a Legal Counsel. Fluent in Dutch, with good command of French or willing to improve it.

As a Legal Counsel, you will be part of the legal team and will contribute to providing practical solutions, ensuring legal security for Holcim Belgium and its subsidiaries.

Under the supervision of the General Counsel and in direct contact with field colleagues, you will deal with a variety of legal issues under Belgian law:

• You will negotiate, draft and interpret various types of contracts with and for the business (service contracts, commercial contracts, lease, purchase, sale, concession, restructuring, transport, distribution, sponsorship...)
• You will be responsible for the corporate housekeeping of the group's subsidiaries in Belgium and will answer enquiries relating to corporate law
• In close liaison with the operational departments, you will manage litigation files (commercial disputes mainly). You will act proactively to find the best possible amicable solutions and will prepare the agreed transactions
• You will manage the legal aspects of M&A transactions
• You will contribute to answering questions on competition law
• You will answer various internal legal questions in order to comply with national legislation
• You will monitor legal developments and participate in the legal training of Holcim's staff

• You hold a Master’s degree in law
• You have a first professional experience
• You have a good knowledge of commercial and corporate law and enjoy dealing with a wide range of legal issues
• You are pragmatic and have good communication skills
• You are a team player and able to work independently
• You are proactive and solution-oriented
• You are fluent in Dutch and have a good command of French or are willing to improve it. A good knowledge of English is a plus
