Associate Banking & Finance | Top-Tier Law Firm

For a leading independent Belgian law firm, I am looking for an Associate with 5 to 6 years' experience in Banking & Finance. Fluent in English and excellent command of French or Dutch.

The firm's Corporate & Finance department is one of the largest in Belgium. By seamlessly combining their expertise and knowledge, its lawyers are able to quickly address clients’ needs in corporate and finance matters, whether these arise in Belgium or abroad. For cross-border transactions, they work on a daily basis with top-tier foreign law firms.

The Banking & Finance team supports corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, real estate developers and investors, financial institutions, funds, and alternative lenders with diverse financing needs. From acquisition and real estate finance to project and general corporate lending, the team offers pragmatic advice to secure successful deals in Belgium and globally.

As part of the Banking & Finance team you will be involved in a wide range of Banking & Finance transactions matters for a diverse client base. Your tasks will include:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation
• Liaising with clients and their counterparts
• Managing files from inception to closing

• You hold a first-class Belgian law degree and have achieved excellent academic results. Additional education abroad and/or advanced master’s degree in banking and finance law is a plus
• You have 5 to 6 years' experience in banking & finance matters in a leading Belgian or international law firm and/or in a financial company/institution
• You have excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
• You have a hands-on mentality, are proactive and ready to take initiative
• You are client-oriented and have a practical and commercial mindset
• You are a team player and can work independently
• You are fluent in English and have an excellent command of French or Dutch
