Associate Corporate M&A | Top-Tier Law Firm

For a leading independent Belgian law firm, I am looking for an Associate with a strong interest in corporate law and M&A work. Fluent in French with excellent command of English and good knowledge of Dutch.

The firm's Corporate & Finance practice provides clients with practical and business-wise solutions in all corporate and M&A matters, including in the fields of capital markets, corporate governance, reorganisations, private equity and venture capital, joint ventures, as well as corporate litigation.

The clients it serves encompass the whole spectrum of corporate players, ranging from sovereign and public authorities to start-ups, multinational corporations, PE and VC sponsors, family offices, senior executives, non-profit entities and foundations, as well as Belgian 'blue chip' companies.

Its Corporate & Finance team is one of the largest in Belgium. By seamlessly combining their expertise and knowledge, its lawyers are able to quickly address clients’ needs in corporate law and M&A, whether these arise in Belgium or abroad. For cross-border transactions, they work on a daily basis with top-tier foreign law firms.

As part of the Corporate and M&A team you will be involved in a wide range of matters for a diverse client base, with a particular focus on M&A and PE/VC transactions. Your tasks will include:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation (due diligence, management agreements, ancilliarly agreements, shareholders' agreements...)
• Liaising with clients and their counterparts
• Managing files from inception to closing

• You hold a first-class Belgian law degree and have achieved excellent academic results. Additional education abroad and/or advanced master’s degree in corporate/business law is a plus
• You have 3 to 6 years' experience in a leading Belgian or international law firm
• You have excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
• You have a hands-on mentality, are proactive and ready to take initiative
• You are client-oriented and have a practical and commercial mindset
• You are a team player and can work independently
• You are fluent in French and have an excellent command of English and a good knowledge of Dutch
